Fourth Grade Math- Monday through Thursday students are required to do a lesson in their Simple Solutions book. A quiz will be given each Tuesday or Wednesday. Please check your child's planner for quiz dates.
All students should memorize their basic facts. Multiplication is very important. Please make sure that your child studies their basic multiplication facts each night. It is a good idea to help them practice by using flash cards or creating little quizzes for them to take. Using FactDash found on our math book resources is also a great way to practice.
Our math book has lots of activities online. There is even an online tutor. Please feel free to use this link whenever necessary. There may be sometimes that I require students to use this link to help them prepare for lessons or give them extra practice. If I need for students to access this after school hours there will be a note in the planner. We will use this link during center time for extra practice. Once you connect to the link, choose math and then click on the math book for 4th grade or for 5th grade.

Center Fun-
Mr. Mudd has found a wonderful sight that is a lot of fun. Please see below for description.
Rube Goldberg designed machines that made simple, every day, tasks into complicated activities with the help of his contraptions (think Wallace and Gromit). The students task is to design a machine that will help serve lunch. The machine isn’t working properly and students must discover which pieces of the machine need a little tweaking. As students complete the machine, they can test it out and get hints and clues about what could be keeping the machine from working.
